Advertisement Clarification of JICA Short Term Training Fellowship

A. This is clarification regarding the recent JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency) under Knowledge Co-Creation Program, short term training fellowship that announced by DITT, MoIC.

1. Training Title

“ICT for the improvement of Government Capacity and services: Information Security”

2. Course Period
February 21, 2018 to July 5, 2018

3. Course Objective
This course aims for each participant to be able to design and manage the information security system.

e-GIF Workshop

e-GIF (National Enterprise Architecture) Workshop 15/11/2017. The Department conducted a one Day workshop on e-GIF to the ICT officers from various agencies in the government.
The workshop is conducted to start the assignment to develop Service Catalogue, Application Portfolio, Technology Portfolio and Data Element list for RGoB.

Birth Anniversary of His Majesty the 4th Druk Gyalpo

On the joyous occasion of the 62nd Birth Anniversary of His Majesty, our beloved Fourth Druk Gyalpo, the Department of IT and Telecom, MoIC joins the nation to offer our deepest respect, heartfelt felicitation and prayers for His Majesty's health and long life.

On this occassion may we pay our immense gratitude and appreciation for His Majesty's glorious reign under which people of Bhutan have enjoyed an unprecedented peace, happiness and prosperity. May the Triple Gem bless the Tsa-wa-sum.


Mr. Brahima Sanou, Director, BDT, ITU and Mr Ioane Koroivuki, Regional Director, ITU Asia-Pacific visited Bhutan from 31/10/17 to 2/11/17. On 2nd November, 2017 Mr. Brahima Sanou gave a talk to the MoIC staff and ICT Heads about the ICT priorities of Bhutan through Outcomes of World Telecommunication Development Conference 2017 which was held in Buenos Aires, Argentina, from 9 to 20 October 2017. The theme for WTDC was "ICT for Sustainable Development Goals" - ICT④SDGs.


BHUTAN SPACE WEEK (17-23 February, 2020)

Inspired by the vision of His Majesty the King, Bhutan started space activities in 2016 by participating in the 2nd Joint Global Multi-Nations BIRDS CubeSat Project which was hosted at Kyushu Institute of Technology, Japan. As a result, the country’s first satellite named BHUTAN-1 was developed and launched in 2018. Following the launch of the country’s maiden satellite, much interest among the general public and especially the youth has been generated.
