Result For National Website Competition (2017-2018)
The 5th National website competition was conducted by the Department of IT and Telecom which was followed after the declaration of results of the 4th National website competition. The competition was conducted over a period of 9 months where all the websites were evaluated twice in 2 rounds. The actual evaluations took place from 17th October 2017 to 31st March 2018. A total of 135 websites were registered for the competition, of which 100 where Government agency, 23 autonomous agencies and 12 private firms.
The Department of Information Technology and Telecom, Ministry of Information and Communications have initiated datahub projects where different client applications can integrate with each other using our data exchange platform.
Since this is a new initiative in the department, we would like to invite your technical officers to participate in a short workshop where we will share information and some documentation which will help you in integrating IT projects for the RGoB in the future.

A week long GovCMS training on Drupal started on 23/4/2018 where webmasters from 20 dzongkhags and 4 thromdes will be participating. The event has been facilitated by DITT with support from M/s Zyxware Technologies and Yangkhor IT solutions. Following this event, all the dzongkhags and thromdes' sites will be hosted on the GovCMS platform which will be hosted at the GDC.
A class of 18 IT lecturers from College of Science and Technology, Gyelposhing IT College and Sherubtse college in Phuntsholing have started the training on “Android Development Fundamental Training program” at College of Science and Technology, Rinchending from 24th April 2018. This will be 5 days intensive course, focusing on the development of Mobile Application using Android platform. With this training, the college Lecturers should be able to mentor and guide students with projects and innovative solutions using Android technology.
Four Mobile Applications namely City Bus Service, Dzongkha Learning for Kids, M-contacts and Tourism, were developed and produced as the result of 21 days intensive training conducted on “Android based Mobile Application Development with Java” at Bhutan Innovation Technology Centre (BITC), Thimphu TechPark Limited (TTPL) from 2 - 21 April 2018. The following are the list of mobile applications with brief explanation on its functionalities:
Information Communications and Media Act of Bhutan 2018
A class of 14 ICT officials from various Dzongkhags and Ministries/Agencies in Thimphu have started the training on “Android based Mobile Application Development with Java” at Bhutan Innovation Technology Centre (BITC), Thimphu TechPark Limited (TTPL) from 2 April 2018. This will be 19 days intensive course, focusing on the development of Mobile Application on Android. With this training the department expects the trained ICT officials to launch 3-4 mobile application by the end of the training.
The Bhutan-1 Workshop organized by the Department of Information Technology & Telecom, Ministry of Information and Communications, in collaboration with the Kyushu Institute of Technology (Kyutech) and College of Science and Technology (CST) was held on 20th March, 2018 at CST, Phuentsholing. The event was graced by Hon’ble Prime Minister, Dasho Tshering Tobgay along with Hon’ble Secretary, Dasho Karma W. Penjor, Ministry of Information and Communications (MoIC) and the Ambassador of Bhutan to Thailand, Tshewang C. Dorji.

International girls in ICT day was celebrated on 23rd April this year.
Due to the pandemic situation, the department conducted the event online wherein participants were asked to use our social medial frame/filter created for the event.
They were asked to write how ICT impacts their lives.
Top 6 were selected as winners from around 46 participants and were awarded the prize.
