As part of e-Governance Project, The Department of Information Technology in collaboration with NICS has completed prototype development of Office Procedure Automation (OPA) and trial implementation has been started LIVE from 16/03/09 for the agencies under MoIC and Ministry of Health. Live demo for the ten Ministries and selected autonomous Agencies were successfully completed.
The objective of OPA is to facilitate the efficient delivery of letters within the organizations and to reduce the flow of physical papers and enhance transparency to management. OPA will streamline handling of letters and also provide efficient letter tracking mechanism.
The OPA involves a workflow in dealing with letters and files. While receiving letters, every incoming physical letters will be scanned by the dispatcher and scanned letter will be forwarded electronically to the relevant official for further action.
