Dzongkhag Local Area Network
Bhutan has twenty administrative units called dzongkhags or districts, each headed by a dzongda or a district administrator. The dzongkhag administration is composed of the ministry and department line offices.

Multi Purpose Tele-center
The Internet was introduced into Bhutan in 1999 coinciding with the Silver Jubilee Celebration of His Majesty’s 25 years of glorious reign in the country, truly ushering Bhutan into the Information Age. Thimphu WAN(TWAN)
The Thimphu WAN (TWAN) project, including the rectification works have been completed as of August 2008. The rectification phase of the project laid fiber optic connections to some more organizations which were not featured in the first phased. Today, about seventy five organizations have been operationally joined to the network.
